Mehrdad Hadighi is an Iranian-American architect, educator, and the Stuckeman Professor of Advanced Design Studies in the Department of Architecture at Penn State University. He holds a doctorate in comparative literature from SUNY-Buffalo, a post-professional graduate architecture degree from Cornell University, and professional degrees in architecture and studio arts from the University of Maryland. As founding principal of the Studio for Architecture, he has received international acclaim, being selected by Wallpaper* magazine as one of "25 Most Intriguing, Innovative and Intrepid Architects From All Over the World" and by Architectural Record as one of "10 Young Firms Reshaping the Globe." He has taught at the University at Buffalo, where he co-directed the P. Reyner Banham Fellowship program, and his competition entries include the Berlin Alexanderplatz Design Competition and the Austrian Cultural Institute in Manhattan.
