Located on Ostandari Street south of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, this project by Farrokh Zonouzi, Nariman Pirasteh Boroujeni, and Mohammad Arab converts a ruined historic house into the offices of Bavand Consulting Engineers. The design navigates three distinct interventions: restoration of surviving elements, remodeling of damaged portions, and new construction where needed. The jury found the project theoretically stronger than many competitors, praising its sensitivity to the old building and central courtyard. Nader Tehrani noted that the project successfully defined the boundary between restoration, remodeling, and new construction — a rare achievement. Nasrin Seraji observed that the focal point is neither the courtyard nor the tree, but the dome of Shah Mosque visible beyond, creating a profound connection to Isfahan's historic urban fabric. The project was recognized for its attention to form and culture rather than conventional aesthetics.
