The "Forty Columns" pavilion — though only twenty slender wooden pillars support its vast porch, their perfect reflections in the 110-meter reflecting pool complete the count. Built as Shah Abbas II's audience hall, the interior contains Iran's most important collection of Safavid-era wall paintings: six monumental murals depicting battles, receptions, and banquets that document court life with cinematic ambition. The Battle of Chaldiran panel, stretching across an entire wall, shows Ottoman and Safavid armies clashing with an intensity that rivals any European history painting. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
