Dowlat Residential Building in Tehran, designed by Arsh Design Studio (Alireza Sharaflati, Pantea Islami, and Omid Ilbakhari), won first place in the Apartment Buildings category at the 6th Memar Award (2006). The jury selected this project for its skillful handling of the relationship between urban context, building facades, and pedestrian experience. Negar Hakim praised the design for creating appropriate connections between the building's entrance, courtyard, and the surrounding neighborhood. Firouz Firouz noted its clever use of a narrow lot, observing how the architect managed to create quality spatial sequences despite site constraints. The building demonstrates how attention to urban relationships and sensitive facade composition can elevate residential architecture beyond mere functional requirements. The material palette and proportional system contribute to a restrained yet distinctive street presence.
