Had Architecture Studio (Elnaz Amini, Esmail Ashena) Location: Shiraz, Iran Date: 2023 Area: 270 sqm Status: Completed Client: Amir Moradi Technical Design: Elnaz Amini Electrical Engineering: Mr. Mousavi Construction: Esmail Ashena Woodworking: Byfe Photo: Arash Akhtaran The project is the interior design of a newly built apartment on the top floor of a three story apartment. According to the client’s wishes and opinions, it was necessary to design a space for him that would not lessen the monotony of space, while preserving privacy, but keeping all public space as a single platform. Given the age of mirror-work in Shiraz, the mirror was used as a relief element. As the main drawing room on the south side had a view of the Derak mountains, mirror boxes were tried to enhance and expose the external reality in the interior, though we used light looking plexi glasses, which were safer. We designed the different elements to create distinct senses: the library in the north hall, which could be used as a sitting place; the kitchen island which serves as a work table, a dining table and a buffet; the two sided multi-function partition, which is placed as a central element, to create privacy and spatial zoning; and the hanging commode-partition of the master bedroom that designed for privacy while preserving space fluidity. As the client needed a lot of storage space, the closets were designed and constructed in such a way as to keep the space as pure as possible, and were placed in boxes with the ducts and the bathrooms. For wooden works, we used the yellow ocher MDF along with three neutrals white, black and gray, which could provide a sense of security and warmth in the home, and would enable to brighten the space by reflecting light.
