The Fars Province Gas Company Building in Shiraz, designed by Mehrdad Iravanian, is a striking example of high-tech architecture in Iran. The building's most distinctive feature is its facade, composed of an intricate system of exposed polished stainless steel pipes arranged in a dynamic geometric pattern against a curtain wall of green-tinted glass. These pipes serve as both a metaphorical representation of the gas distribution network — the company's core business — and as practical solar shading devices that filter natural light into the interior. The four-story structure, with approximately 5,000 square meters of built area, is organized around a central atrium that brings daylight deep into the floor plates. The reinforced concrete structure employs a steel-frame curtain wall system, with the pipe elements shop-fabricated and assembled on site.
