Hashemieh & Daneshjoo stations are two stops on the new light rail transit system in Mashhad. Both are part of the first phase of construction: a 10-kilometre stretch of at-grade track inserted into the middle of Vakil Abad Boulevard, which is distinguished by its width (100 metres) and its rows of mature trees. By arranging access to the stations through a sunken courtyard, the design allows this linear garden to flow uninterrupted. The use of material is consistent with the landscaping of the boulevard: stone for the floor slabs, exposed concrete for the retaining walls, steel for the platform structures.
