JADGAL Elementary School in Chabahar was built with a participatory approach using local materials and labor. Inspired by the indigenous architecture of Baluchestan and attentive to the region's climatic conditions, the designer created a suitable and pleasant educational space for village children that demonstrates how architecture can improve the quality of education in underserved areas. The use of lightweight structures, natural ventilation, and effective shade elements provides comfortable conditions in the region's hot and dry climate. The school's open and semi-open spaces enable educational activities and play in the open air, creating an environment that celebrates learning while respecting the cultural and environmental context of southeastern Iran. JADGAL won First Place in the Public Buildings category at the 21st Memar Award (2021) with a unanimous 15 points — the highest possible score — recognized for its community-driven approach and sensitive response to both climate and culture.
