Nor-e Mobin Cultural-Educational Institute

A sports hall designed for the Nor-e Mobin educational complex, an independent non-governmental charity institution in Bastam, Semnan Province. The building uses a repeating portal frame structure typical of industrial halls, but subtle modifications to the side columns transform it into a lightweight, visually striking structure without additional cost. The concept draws from the constant movement of clouds across the sky from the mountains toward the plains — the architects sought to create a natural form borrowed from the landscape, embedding the program within it and returning it as part of the scenery. Double-layered safety glass walls (17mm) encircle the hall, maintaining a continuous visual connection between interior and exterior, breaking the convention of opaque masonry walls typical of sports facilities. Winner of the 11th Memar Award, First Place in Public Buildings category.
