Office Building, Khaled Eslamboli Street
ساختمان اداری خیابان خالد اسلامبولی
The Office Building on Khaled Eslamboli Street (now Neauphle-le-Chateau Street) is a commercial office building in Tehran, designed by architect Shamil Mohammadzadeh and completed around 2000. The building features multi-layered facade treatment, exposed mechanical systems (eliminating the need for a mechanical room), and notable attention to the ground-level connection with the street.
The project received 5th place (score 18/35) at the 1st Memar Award in 2001. The jury unanimously cited its "attention to architecture as an urban element," "correct understanding in the use of craftsmanship," "treatment of the facade through layering and attention to side facades," "successful use of materials and color," and "complete detailing."
Kamran Afshar Naderi highlighted the urban sensitivity: "The texture used on the north facade is of the same materials as the Cinema Shahr-e Farang across from it. The architect has tried to build different layers, break through, and create depth — an architectural discussion. There is no mechanical room; bringing pipes to the surface is practical. The manner of the building's connection to the ground resolves one of the weaknesses of Tehran's architecture."
