Commissioned by Queen Goharshad, wife of Shah Rukh, and designed by master architect Qavam al-Din Shirazi. Its monumental iwan portal and turquoise-domed prayer hall set the standard for Timurid mosque design that would influence Safavid architecture for centuries.
