Biographie

Influential English Neoclassical architect and archaeologist who served as the Surveyor of St Paul’s Cathedral and is renowned for designing the Ashmolean Museum. He was the first recipient of the RIBA Royal Gold Medal in 1848 for his contribution to architectural history.
