Gholamreza Kobari

Biographie

Iranian engineer and architect who designed the Mashhad Railway Station, one of the most significant examples of modern architecture in the city of Mashhad. Working under the Iranian Railways Administration, Kobari designed the station between 1959 and 1967, creating a building that combines classical columnar elements with modern reinforced concrete construction and a distinctive curved roof form. The station stands as a notable specimen of post-World War II modernist architecture in Iran.
