It is now a year since Mrs. Beski left us. We miss her a lot. When present, she had a very resolute personality; in her ab- sence, we feel her spiritual presence. She was a courageous and outspoken person who would say what she thought. For her, loyalty to truth was not just a matter of general morality, it was an integral part of the professional ethics. Work and endeavour were inseparable from her being. This is why we confined the anniversary of her absence to a small event in the office of Memar magazine and postponed a greater commemoration of her work to the publication of the 100th issue of our journal. More than anything, Memar is indebted to her diligence and perseverance. The time and lo- cation of the event, ‘Celebrating the 100th Issue of the Maga- zine, In Remembrance of Soheila Beski’ will be announced in the future issues of Memar. The influence of Soheila Beski on the style of writing and the prose of descriptive articles and architectural critic was salient. She always regretted why Iranian architects show little attention to writing about architecture and that oral culture is still most dominant. In order to commemorate the role she played in this field, and to underline the importance of writing about architecture, we have considered an award in her name for appreciating authors of professional articles. We will an- nounce the criteria for choosing the superior articles as well as the procedure for participating in Soheila Beski Architec- tural Literature Award in one of our forthcoming issues. We would be happy to hear your comments on this. This issue is organised by Memar office itself. Contrary to those issues supervised by a guest editor where the focus is on a single subject or theme, in this issue the subject of articles is varied. The reason behind choosing the title of ‘One Architect, One Perspective’ was to allow those articles and projects to appear which otherwise had to wait for a very long time. We are thankful of all the authors of this issue. We would be happy to receive your articles in future. The Memar Nashr Family - May 2016
