A Project for Loft, Qeshm

Loft is a beautiful small village in Qeshm Island. Qeshm is a beautiful large island in the Persian Gulf and is a duty free zone. This charac- teristic attracts millions of Iranian tourists to its spring-like winters and norouzs. Loft that was blooming once upon a time is a small village today with a population of four thousand. It is one of the numerous villages of the island, that with roads, cars and especially motorcycles removed from their face, are the very same thousand years old villages, with simple houses decorated with beautiful vents and wind towers. As a gift from Memar magazine and architects, designers and other fans of volunteer projects we thought of launching a project in Loft. We started a website (www.iran-loft.com) to give some information about the village and our project. Also, we are going to help in provid- ing a car for collecting garbage in the village and finally planning and executing a small tourist camp. This camp is a platform with neces- sary spaces and infrastructures and will have the following features: • 20 tent spaces, and 20 parking spaces • Toilets and washrooms and 2 showers • Water dispensers and structures for providing non drinkable water • 10 barbecues
