The publication of Memar 151 coincides with the tenth year since Soheila Beski is no longer among us — may her memory be honored. Readers of Memar magazine will no doubt remember Mrs. Beski above all for her seventeen years of tireless effort in founding and publishing this magazine through issue 91, and for organizing and directing the Memar Award through its fourteenth edition. Today, as the twenty-seventh year of Memar's publication lies before you and the twenty-fifth edition of the Memar Award is being held this year, we remember her more than ever — for without the ethical foundations and discipline she laid, continuing this work would not have been possible. Another legacy of Mrs. Beski is the hundreds of stories she wrote, some of which have been published in several short story collections, as well as the translation of several books. Her memory endures.
