In this issue you will read an article by Keyvan Salimi titled ‘Steel frame industrial construction’. From the wording of the title, the use of certain verbs not very popular today stem- ming from author’s familiarity with olders texts as well as the powerful structure of sentences and clear details showing a good understanding of the subject discussed in the article, you too might conclude, as we did, that the author at least be of 50 years of age with 30 years of professional experience. Yet soon, we were informed that he is only 38 years old. Many years ago Memar Prize brought the current of young artists’ creativity and talent to the fore. From that point forward, we realized this phenomenon is not restricted to architects. Young graphic designers, photographers, paint- ers, singers, composers, writers, etc. share it and probably all have found their way to the surface from a hidden stream run- ning in the depth of earth, passing through layers of dirt and stone… with a toilsome effort without anyone helping them from the surface opening up their way. Now it is time for young engineers. This promises a better future for Iranians despite all the disappointment we experience every day. During the past de- cade, Memar has, probably unconsciously, served as a scene for presenting the abilities of young architects as well as writers and researchers sharing the results of their attempts with others. In this respect, we have had achievements maybe not attracting as much attentions as Memar Prize but equally important. Therefore, we decided to invite guest editors for certain issues and expand the number of our authors from that of the fixed group of board of editors. We ask of all interested to send us their suggestions re- garding the themes of the future. The themes suggested by the board of editors so far are as follows: - Architectural design method - Architecture and industrial design - Architectural office management - Annihilation of the history of Tehran in the historical Tehran
