An apartment complex near Okurayama station, about ten minutes by train from Yokohama. The complex comprises 9 residential units, each with an area of approximately 50 square metres, on a site with an area of 450 square metres. Each unit accommodates two people. Our aim was to create a row of layered houses stacked on top of one another. The gardens and rooms combine easily with each other. The bedrooms, living-dining rooms, bathrooms, terraces and gardens in each unit connect with their surroundings in all directions. The space of each unit is bright and open and connects to the surrounding gardens, which makes the residents’ activities possible evenly across the whole site.
