Narenj 81 Residential Villa (selected by the jury of the Memar 80 Award)
This is a three-storey residential villa. The placing of the building on pilotis — beyond responding to the climatic concerns of the region (the creation of a through-draft and the building's breathing in a moist climate) — secures a better outlook and gathers such functions as storage and parking beneath itself.
The façade has been left, as much as possible, in the original language of its materials. To that end, the concrete structure has been left exposed in the façade; the infill faces use grey sand-lime bricks. The final roof covering is in pottery tiles of natural colour; on the whole, the building's outward presence seems not in opposition to the natural setting around it, but to settle within it.
The structure is a reinforced concrete frame on a 4 × 4 metre modular grid, with a 40 cm sub-module between the main module for the placement of columns and walls. The architectural plan, too, follows this same geometry. Given the rough area required for kitchens and bedrooms, one module (4 × 4) is used for them; for the larger rooms (the living room) two modules (4 × 8); for the services, a quarter module.
The structure of the final roof is exposed timber trusses, externally covered with pottery tiles, leaving the natural timber visible to the room within.

In the design of this building, the aim was that the initial substance and idea of the scheme — in overall form and proportions, in setbacks and slopes — should be drawn from the vernacular dwelling of Mazandaran, and should appear in the language of today's materials. The two setbacks on the north and south fronts and the placing of the openings in their faces, beyond providing views to suitable prospects from within, also help establish a natural air-current through the building.

Big Bite Computer Store, Paytakht Computer Centre
In view of the small dimensions of the shop, an attempt has been made to occupy as little of the floor space as possible by means of linear elements; the angling of the table against the side walls makes the spaces on either side of it usable. The emphasis on detail and on the visibility of those details is for the sake of the shop's purpose, which is bound up with technology.
