Residential Apartment No. 1 in Mahallat is a 1300-square-meter residential building designed by Collective Terrain (Ramin Mehdizadeh) on a 300-square-meter site. The project establishes a direct connection with its surroundings through both form and materials, employing recycled stones collected from local stone-cutting plants. These waste stones, diverse in color and texture, create a coherent yet complex surface unlike any other material combination. Gisue Hariri praised the project for its direct relationship with its context through local materials, calling it almost unbelievable that such a modern project was built in a small city like Mahallat. Nader Tehrani noted that while the plan appears confused from afar, closer attention reveals it to be very logical — the slight angular changes respond to the diagonal site lines and create effective light wells. Nasrin Seraji asked: "How many houses do you know that are this beautiful both during the day and at night?"
