Two residential buildings on Fereshteh (Elahieh) Street in Tehran designed by Behrouz Bayat. Though they do not raise a new artistic issue, they are of very good quality architecturally, with skill, precision, and taste employed throughout. The spatial organization and detailing reference the vernacular architecture of Tehran and Shemiran. The public circulation spaces, entrances, terraces, and balconies are distinctive and attractive.
Critic Kamran Afshar Naderi noted that the facades, in terms of the concentration of numerous disparate elements, appear somewhat cluttered; however, due to the gradation of lightness and heaviness of elements in relation to the connection with the ground and the skyline, and the volumetric composition of the facade elements, this feature is not bothersome. Awarded 2nd Place at the 2nd Grand Memar Award (2002) for residential architecture.
