Fashandak Villa

Fashandak Villa by Hossein Naseri features a cross-shaped plan and an architecture that recalls the farmhouses of southern Europe and the memory of the five-door room (panj-dari). With its simple facade and stained-glass windows evoking the interior of homes from the 1970s (1350s Hejri), the project draws on multiple architectural memories.

Critic Kamran Afshar Naderi noted that while the villa is better than most common buildings in the country, it does not present remarkable innovation in architectural discourse. The cross-shaped plan and European rural references, combined with the nostalgic quality of the stained-glass windows, create a pleasant but ultimately conventional work. Selected as a Jury Selection at the 2nd Grand Memar Award (2002) in the Single-Family Houses category.
