Hanna House is a single-family residence in the dense historic subdivisions of the Dolat Street neighborhood in Tehran that received 3rd Place in the Individual Dwellings category at the 23rd Memar Award with 4 points. Designed by Navid Nasrollahzadeh, the house has a total built area of 248 m² on a compact 101 m² lot measuring 5 by 20 meters.

Today, urban life has drifted toward dwelling in apartments severed from nature — units that have sacrificed many of the qualities of a living space. Hanna House is an experiment in creating a home in dialogue with light and nature that, despite occupying a small plot, offers its residents a pleasant living experience. The elongated, narrow lot led the house to pull away from its northern neighbor, allowing light and fresh air to reach more spaces. Vertical circulation at the center strengthens the arrangement of spaces for optimal light access.

The combination of brick's warm temperament with simple volumes promises a warm and intimate environment. A brick wall extending from the lowest level to the roof parapets becomes the backdrop for the staircase, with light falling through the glass ceiling onto this wall, adding the play of light and time to the space. The lightwell, clad in brick, accommodates terraces and a suspended metal planter box for dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. On its roof and in its yard, the house forms a composition of open, closed, and semi-open intermediary spaces.
