The Imperial (Shahi) Bank of Yazd is a Qajar-era branch of the Imperial Bank of Persia, established approximately 150 years ago within the Maidan-e Khan complex. Located on the southern end of the western colonnade of Khan Square, this historic building features an octagonal courtyard, pointed vaulted ceilings, beautiful timber doors with multi-colored windows, and ornate brick-and-plaster portal decorations. Originally managed by the English banker John Frederick Toole, the building later served as a police station and merchant warehouse before being acquired and restored by the Yazd Housing and Urban Development Organization in 1996-1997 for use as the Yazd Museum of Cultural Works and Dignitaries.
