General Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Frankfurt

The General Consulate of Iran in Frankfurt was designed by Seyyed Hadi Mirmiran of Naqsh.e Jahan-Pars Consulting Engineers, with design consultants Iraj Etesam and Ebrahim Sina. Recognized as a jury selection at the 5th Grand Memar Award in 2005. Kamran Afshar Naderi observed that this project represented Iranian architecture on an international stage, with all the challenges that entails — the difficulty of representing national identity through architecture abroad. The glass curtain wall facade, designed in collaboration with German consultant Alfred Moeller and Professor Pfeifer, combines modern European building technology with Iranian architectural sensibility.
