Kordan House by Firouz Firouz is distinguished from surrounding villas by its distinctive aesthetic. The volumetric composition of the building, though not entirely proportional to its small scale, is very attractive and poetic. The slender horizontal beams at the back of the building, in contrast with the massive protruding volume of the dome, the chimneys projecting from the building, and the crenellations of the main facade suggest an aesthetic that distances itself from both modernism and classicism.
Critic Kamran Afshar Naderi praised the designer for treating the interior walls like sculpture, with details designed with artistic fastidiousness. The greatest merit of the house, according to Afshar Naderi, is its distinctiveness — in a landscape of generic villas, this building asserts its own architectural language through poetic volumetric play and meticulous craftsmanship. Selected as a Jury Selection at the 2nd Grand Memar Award (2002) in the Single-Family Houses category.
