Nasir al-Mulk Mosque

Known worldwide as the "Pink Mosque," Nasir al-Mulk transforms its winter prayer hall into a kaleidoscope of color each morning when sunlight pours through elaborate stained glass windows across the west-facing interior. Commissioned by Mirza Hasan Ali Nasir al-Mulk and built over twelve years, the mosque's exterior is clad in the distinctive pink rose tiles that give it its nickname. But the real artistry lies inside: polychrome tilework, muqarnas vaulting, and carved stone columns create spaces of extraordinary chromatic richness. The mosque's viral popularity on social media has made it arguably Iran's most photographed building.
