Parand International Karting in the new city of Parand, designed by Mehdi Moradi and Hamid Abbasloo, won First Place in the Public Buildings category at the 13th Memar Award (2013). The building, serving a sports-entertainment function, contains multiple sections including a restaurant, coffee shop, computer gaming area, billiards, training rooms, karting track, and VIP section.
Among the project's innovations are the design and execution of a 28-meter cantilever, the selection of a linear elongated form, and the narrowing of the building volume as much as possible to minimize the visual and sensory disconnection along the Tehran-Saveh highway. This design also ensures that spectators' mental enclosure is maintained during races. The track design was carried out by the Austrian company Schreiner, and the interior architecture was by Mohsen Younesi.
