Pirayesh House in Tehran by Friar Javaherian demonstrates its designer's distinctive style. The architecture is, on the whole, very hedonistic — beautifully composed and colorful floor-work, numerous references to Iranian architectural motifs, warm and inviting interior spaces decorated with exposed brick, and a small water feature adorned with turquoise tiles are the hallmarks of the work.
Critic Kamran Afshar Naderi noted that while Javaherian's works are pleasant, good, and useful, from an aesthetic standpoint they do not raise an important architectural issue. The most notable aspect is the central patio of the house, which — unlike conventional practice — has been remarkably well executed. Selected as a Jury Selection at the 2nd Grand Memar Award (2002) in the Apartment Buildings category.
