The traditional orchard of Qazvin, with an area of about 2,500 hectares, counts as one of the largest rain-fed orchards of Iran, consisting mainly of fruit trees such as grape, pistachio, pomegranate and almond; it was formed on the basis of the traditional irrigation system and acts as a "green lung" for the city of Qazvin.
