The Houses Between River and Stream is a residential complex situated between the river and the madi (traditional water channel) in Isfahan. Designed with an approach of preserving and revitalizing the historic fabric, the houses respect the organic structure of the neighborhood and use indigenous materials, deriving their sense of place from their relationship with water and surrounding green spaces. The design demonstrates how to bring life back to Isfahan's old fabric while responding to contemporary living needs. By maintaining the essential spatial relationships that characterized traditional Isfahani neighborhoods — the intimate scale, the connection to water infrastructure, and the dialogue between built form and landscape — the complex offers a model for contextual residential development in historic settings. The Houses Between River and Stream won joint First Place in the Apartment Buildings category at the 21st Memar Award (2021) with 10 points, recognized alongside Approximation House.
