The Vanak Cultural-Sport Complex in Tehran, a collaborative project by Esmaeil Talaei and Shahrivar Izadi (1990-1993), combines sports, cultural, and recreational functions within an organic architectural form. The complex's brick facades and curved forms draw on traditional Iranian architectural vocabulary, with extensive use of Iranian garden principles and careful attention to the landscape. The design features organic massing, respect for existing trees, and an environmentally sensitive approach to siting.
