Biography
Majid Ghamami (born 1948, Tehran) is an Iranian architect and urban planner. He holds a Master of Architecture (1975) and a Master of Urban Planning (1979), both from the University of Tehran. His architectural portfolio includes residential and service buildings at consulting engineering firms (1974–77), educational buildings at the Organization for School Renovation (1977–85), two single-family houses in Tabriz and Isfahan (1976–77), an apartment building in Tehran (1984–85), and a villa in Mazandaran (1996). In urban planning, he has directed numerous master plans, detailed plans, and urban renewal projects (1986–2016), and authored six books on urban issues and planning (2003–2022). He has published over forty articles in professional journals including Abadi, Memar and Shahr, delivered lectures at numerous conferences, and served on multiple jury panels for architectural and urban design competitions (1991–2011). He presented research at the Architecture and the City Seminar at Tehran's Andisheh Cultural Center in 2013, organized by the Iranian Architecture Center.
