The publication of Memar 145 coincides with the ninth anniversary of Soheila Beski's passing. May her memory be honored. Without doubt, readers of Memar magazine know Mrs. Beski best for her seventeen years of tireless effort in founding and publishing this magazine through issue 91, and for organizing and managing the Memar Award through its fourteenth edition. Today, in the twenty-sixth year of Memar magazine's publication, as Memar 145 is before you, and as the twenty-fourth Memar Award is being held this year, we remember her more than ever — for without the foundations of professional ethics and discipline she laid, continuing this work would not have been possible. Another legacy of Mrs. Beski is the hundreds of stories she wrote, some of which have been published as several short story collections, along with translations of several books.
