This uninhabited island is a protected area and part of the city of Dayyer, near the district of Bordkhun, and is environmentally a rare island. Nakhiloo is formed from shell-coral stones, covers an area of 60 hectares, is elliptical in shape, and rises an average of 1.5 meters above sea level. Beyond its white sandy beach, Nakhiloo is covered with halophyte plants — plants that possess an internal mechanism for desalinating salt water. Nakhiloo is the habitat of various species of native birds including various terns, crab-plovers, and crested larks, as well as various migratory birds and the large sea turtles of the Persian Gulf.
