Persepolis Gate, Ali Sodagaran

Client: Parseh-Pasargad Research Base • Construction: Ali Sodagaran, Ali Parisaee

The project involved designing an entrance gate and visitor ticket control point, a guard booth, a door for the entrance to the Apadana Palace stairway, and security sensors for controlling the entry and exit of visitors to Persepolis. This entrance needed to fulfill all these functions while having the least possible visual impact on the entrance stairway.

For this reason, and also for the durability and longevity of the structure, glass and brushed stainless steel were used in its construction. Two frames of steel tubing, in the simplest form possible, constitute the main structure of the entrance, allowing the installation of sandblasted glass panels in the walls and ceiling, as well as glass doors. Five steel tubes separate the entry and exit pathways and house sensors for detecting visitor entry and exit frequencies, transmitting the collected data to the management office.
