Brick Texture House

A residential apartment building located in one of Tehran's most affordable neighborhoods (Azadi Street, Jeihoun). With a total site area of 130 square meters and each unit at 62 square meters, the architect faced the challenge of creating a distinctive facade on an extremely tight budget. The three-dimensional facade was designed to create interplay of light and shadow. Due to the small floor area and impossibility of creating terraces or negative space in the exterior facade, the architect used minimal depth through brick weaving patterns to achieve a three-dimensional effect. Winner of the 11th Memar Award, Third Place in Residential Buildings category.
