The Congrexpo in Lille, designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA, is a massive multipurpose complex containing a concert hall, convention center, and exhibition spaces. The building represents Koolhaas's ideas about large-scale urban infrastructure, organized as a layered system of independent programs. Its dramatic exterior with tilted columns and vast corrugated walls became an icon of 1990s architecture.
