Arash Heidarian Location: Mashhad, Iran Date: 2021 Area: 2,900 sqm Status: Completed Client: Hetra Building Group Project Manager: Morteza Tavabi Photo: Parham Taghioff, Reza Pordel The subject of design in all parts of architecture and non-architecture, has complexity and difficulty. Designing in a very valuable part of the city, also made the issue very difficult, while being attractive. The client also wanted a project that could have some features of the context and architectural past, while being new. A limited urban plaque with relatively closed fronts, and an east-west stretch, was one of the basic features of the design context. After studying the physical components of context, we went to some user experiences in front of residential spaces, and tried to use the results in ideas and approaches. In the field studies conducted on users of residential spaces, in addition to the importance of the issue of identity in a residential work, inducing a sense of calm and stillness was the most demanded by users. In a visual question, most of them considered the fluidity and mentality of curved lines to be more appropriate and calming than broken forms and lines, for a residential building as a home. During the studies, we tried to come up with an idea that is not far from the context, on the one hand, and on the other hand, being new is one of its characteristics. In the design process, we came to the conclusion that we go to a conscious contradiction in the use of curved and broken formal families. Using a parametric system in addition to creating dynamism in the urban landscape, could also create an optimal structural and economic system in the design.
