Tamouz Architecture & Construction Group (Hooman Tahamtanzadeh, Marjan Banaei, Hossein Salavati Khoshghalb) Finalist of Iranian Architect Merit Award 2019 Location: Bandar-e Mahshahr, Khuzestan, Iran Date: 2015 Area: 550 sqm Status: Completed Client: Raeis Ghanavati Family Design Team: Mohammadreza Mohtashamikia, Ima Mirza Alikhani, Roza Momeni, Behnaz Behbahani Construction Team: Mehdi Barati, Amin Tahamtanzadeh Presentation: Iman Zanguei-nia Photo: Sabk Design Group (Mohammad Hozhabri, Ali Ashtiani) This project as a family house, is located in a peaceful, predominantly residential part of an industrial region in Bandar-e Mahshahr. Its 730 sqm total site area is located on Atlantic town which has had such residential context before, but it has changed during years. The client asked for a two level house, which its public areas are placed on the ground floor, interacting with open spaces, and the private areas being set at the upper floor. Its 550 sqm total floor area is distributed to appropriate living room, two bedrooms, kitchen and dining room on ground floor, and four bedrooms with service spaces on the first floor. They also wish each two bedroom connect together by using the same toilet, bathroom and walking closet. The concept of the project was formed by the orthogonal scheme with various distances, pursuing both the client’s needs, and creating the architectural spaces. We divided the green area to northern and southern part, by locating the house in the center of the site that creates opportunity to access surrounding areas for both sides of the building. The building has taken some distance from east and west side of the site to have the possibility to get natural sunlight and let the sun-rays to run through the whole surrounding area freely. Simplicity and legibility for respecting the campus was one of our aims in this project.
