International competition entry for a convention hall in Nara, Japan. Designed by Bahram Shirdel with Robert Livesey, the project was selected among the top five finalists from 644 entries submitted by architects from 45 countries. The design applied seminal concepts of fold and folding architecture, making it one of the earliest and most influential explorations of topological geometry in architectural form. Exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York from November 1992 to March 1993.
