The prayer room in Takhte Soleyman

A 38 m² prayer room within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Takht-e Soleyman in West Azerbaijan Province. Designed by Amirhossein Tabrizi, this modest chapel achieves a remarkable balance between contemporary intervention and respect for the ancient archaeological context. The design uses locally sourced golden stone with restrained modern detailing to create a contemplative space that serves visitors without competing with the site's monumental surroundings. Joint winner of the First Place in Public Buildings at the 12th Memar Award (2012) with 12 jury points.
