The Tomb of Nader Shah Afshar in Mashhad is a monumental mausoleum designed by architect Hooshang Seyhoun, completed in 1963. The structure features a dramatic modernist interpretation of traditional Persian funerary architecture, with a distinctive helmet-shaped dome that references Nader Shah's military identity. The building rises from a broad stone platform and incorporates geometric patterns and proportions drawn from Iran's architectural heritage. It is considered one of the masterworks of mid-twentieth-century Iranian architecture and a landmark of Mashhad.
