The 22nd Memar Award, published in Memar 140 (August-September 2023, Mordad-Shahrivar 1402), was an unprecedented edition completing what had started in Memar 136. Due to special social circumstances in 2022 (1401), the judging was delayed and the results split across two issues. The competition followed the established two-phase format with site visits and collective discussions. Projects were evaluated in four categories: Individual Dwellings, Apartment Buildings, Public Buildings, and Renovation.
Projects are divided into four groups: Apartment Buildings, Individual Dwellings, Public Buildings, and Renovation. All entries in each group are displayed together for jury review; unanimously rejected entries are eliminated. Each remaining entry is discussed collectively. Each juror selects 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place votes (scoring 3, 2, 1 points). Total scores determine rankings. Tied projects share the placement. Assessment criteria include: architectural quality, environmental response, functionality, innovation, and social commitment.
