2nd Place (Shared): Lolagar Building, Tehran

Lolagar Building on Neauphle-le-Chateau Street (Shahid Hossein Khodadad Street) is a Reza-era building that has been restored and renovated. The project involves converting this historic structure into a complex comprising a gallery, restaurant, and residential units.

The primary challenge was preserving the building's historical and architectural values while adapting it to the requirements of its new uses. The design team, respecting the building's identity, has retained the principal elements of the facade and interior structure, implementing necessary alterations in a reversible manner.

The facade has been restored while preserving the decorative details of the Reza era. Windows, cornices, and plaster ornaments have been carefully reconstructed to maintain the building's original appearance.

On the ground floor, the gallery space, with its high ceilings and proper natural lighting, has created an ideal venue for art exhibitions. The restaurant, while preserving the historic atmosphere, offers a unique dining experience.
