A House Between Two Pines, Zahedan — 1st Place: Renovation
1st Place: A House Between Two Pines, Zahedan Location: Zahedan Client: Engineer Jami / Design associates: Marzieh Motavalizadeh / Structure: Mahmoud Naseri / Construction: Ahmad Karimi / Built area: 280 sqm / Site area: 280 sqm Mohammad Fatehi A House Between Two Pines is a renovation project of an old house in Zahedan. The central idea was preserving two large, old pine trees that stood in the house's courtyard. The renovation transformed not only the physical structure of the house but also its relationship with the open space and courtyard. By preserving the original walls and the old building's structure, the designer rearranged the interior spaces and, through creating new openings and changing the function of spaces, created a contemporary house within an old shell. The two pine trees, as the central design element, play a decisive role in organizing space and creating a sense of calm and sense of place. The intelligent use of local and traditional materials from the region, combined with modern interventions in parts of the building, has created a delicate balance between past and present.
