About

Founded in Tehran by Abdolaziz Farmanfarmaian, initially as a private architectural office in the early 1950s, later merged with consulting engineers Reza Majd and Farrokh Hirbod in 1966. At its peak, the firm employed over 400 technical staff and was considered unparalleled in the Middle East for its professional quality and capacity. Major works include the Tehran Olympic Center (100,000-seat stadium), Tehran Comprehensive Master Plan (with Victor Gruen), National Iranian Oil Company Headquarters, Mehrabad Airport, Niavaran Palace, Carpet Museum, and the Iranian Pavilion at Expo 67. The firm also maintained an office in Athens managed by Joseph Zucker for preparation of construction and engineering drawings.
