French archaeologist, architect and historian (1881-1965). Director of Iranian Archaeological Services (1928-1953, 1956-1960). Inaugural Director of National Museum of Iran. Co-designed Tehran University campus, National Library of Iran, and Tomb of Hafez (with Maxime Siroux). Oversaw restoration of Isfahan's Friday Mosque, Shah Mosque, and Sheikh Lutfallah Mosque.
